Dispensary Technician

Are you self-motivated, energetic and reliable?

The Role:

As a dispensary technician, you will be a key staff member reporting directly to the managing pharmacist. Your role is to support the pharmacist so that they can spend more time delivering health care services and information. To achieve this, you will be responsible for all dispensary processes, ensuring a fast, accurate dispensing of medicines. You may also be responsible for preparation, maintenance and distribution of DAA's.

The ideal applicant is a pharmacy assistant who has previous experience in the dispensary. This opportunity is a permanent part-time or full-time role.

The responsibilities may include:

· Meet, greet and build relationships with pharmacy customers

· Apply point of sale handling procedures

· Dispensing scripts

· Maintaining dispensary records

· Stock management, including ordering and receipt

· Recording, assessing and improving dispensary processes

· General dispensary maintenance and upkeep

· MedsPro and Webstercare DAA preparation

What’s required to be a Dispensary Technician?

  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Experience using FRED or other dispensary software
  • Self-motivated, energetic and reliable
  • Dedicated work ethic and a High level of communication skills
  • Well-developed and proven skills to manage self and workload
  • Ability to monitor and measure performance and implement strategies to overcome problems or improve results

· Ability to work well in a team and autonomously

· Willingness to learn and grow with the business

· Eye for detail and accuracy

Pharmacy student position

Capital Chemist Curtin has an exciting position for a pharmacy student to work 10 hours per week with the opportunity in the future of a pharmacy intern position.

The position would suit a pharmacy student currently in their 3rd or 4th year.

The role involves supporting our pharmacists and helping to drive professional services including vaccinations, specialists testing, Impromy, woundcare, leave certificates, compounding and supplying IVF medications.

Lots of training and support provided.

Regular duties will include:

  • General dispensing
  • Leave certificates and vaccinations under the supervision of a pharmacist
  • Dose aid administration tasks
  • Dispensary stock control
  • Taking in and handing out scripts
  • Counselling patients about new medicines
  • Complex compounding

  • An eye for detail and high level of accuracy

Full time dispense technician position

Capital Chemist Curtin has an exciting position for a full time dispensary technician.

Previous pharmacy experience preferred but training will be offered to the successful candidate.

The role involves supporting our pharmacists by accurately dispensing and managing prescriptions on file.

There will also be the opportunity to learn how to prepare compounded medications under the supervision of a pharmacist.

Lots of training and support provided.

Regular duties will include:

  • General dispensing
  • Dispensary stock control
  • Reconciling and filing prescriptions
  • Taking in and handing out scripts
  • Compounding
  • Assisting the pharmacist in general duties
