Capital Chemist Calwell is a local Community Pharmacy in the Tuggeranong Valley in Canberra. Close to the coast and the ski fields, with great night life and coffee culture Canberra is a wonderful place to live!. Capital Chemist Calwell is owned and run by managing partner Elise Thornton with a mutliskilled team of supporting Pharmacist and staff.

About the Role:

We are looking for ONE motivated full time Intern Pharmacist or an Early Career Pharmacist for our Calwell location in the ACT to join our hardworking and diverse team.

Your role would include:

- Immunisations

- Leave certificates

- Medschecks

- Clinical interventions

- Dispensing

- Provision of other clinical services including but not limited to Impromy, Blood Pressure Checks, Sleep Apnoea Services, Wound Care, DNA testing, Anaemia Screening.

You will be working in a vibrant and friendly environment supported by multiple hardworking Pharmacists allowing you to focus on making a difference to our fantastic patients. This is a role that offers plenty of opportunity for growth, professional development and high job satisfaction.

About the Role:

We are looking for a motivated full-time pharmacist for our Chisholm location in the ACT to join our hardworking and diverse team. You will need to be available to work hours between 8.30am and 7pm during the week and be available for weekend work.

We want someone that loves talking to customers and has the right attitude. In our busy pharmacy you will thrive on challenges, and embrace the opportunity to be out of the dispensary connecting with customers about their health.

Our team prides themselves on delivering amazing customer service and professional services including but not limited to sleep apnoea, Impromy weight loss, immunisations, wound care, leave certificates, opioid substitution, Medschecks, forward pharmacy customer service and more. We want someone that is confident and/or willing to provide all of these services.

You will be working in a friendly environment supported by multiple hardworking pharmacists, dispensary technicians, interns and pharmacy students. This will allow you to focus on making a difference to our lovely patients.

Pharmacy student position

Capital Chemist Curtin has an exciting position for a pharmacy student to work 10 hours per week with the opportunity in the future of a pharmacy intern position.

The position would suit a pharmacy student currently in their 3rd or 4th year.

The role involves supporting our pharmacists and helping to drive professional services including vaccinations, specialists testing, Impromy, woundcare, leave certificates, compounding and supplying IVF medications.

Lots of training and support provided.

Regular duties will include:

  • General dispensing
  • Leave certificates and vaccinations under the supervision of a pharmacist
  • Dose aid administration tasks
  • Dispensary stock control
  • Taking in and handing out scripts
  • Counselling patients about new medicines
  • Complex compounding

Attributes of the successful candidate:

  • An eye for detail and high level of accuracy
  • Ability to work well with a great team in a face paced environment
  • A positive attitude and be motivated to learn new skills

Full time dispense technician position

Capital Chemist Curtin has an exciting position for a full time dispensary technician.

Previous pharmacy experience preferred but training will be offered to the successful candidate.

The role involves supporting our pharmacists by accurately dispensing and managing prescriptions on file.

There will also be the opportunity to learn how to prepare compounded medications under the supervision of a pharmacist.

Lots of training and support provided.

Regular duties will include:

  • General dispensing
  • Dispensary stock control
  • Reconciling and filing prescriptions
  • Taking in and handing out scripts
  • Compounding
  • Assisting the pharmacist in general duties

Attributes of the successful candidate:

  • An eye for detail and high level of accuracy
  • Ability to work well with a great team in a face paced environment
  • A positive attitude and be motivated to learn new skills
