INTERN POSITION CAPITAL CHEMIST CHISHOLM 2020

We are looking for two self-motivated intern pharmacists to join our award winning team in 2020. If you’re looking for an intern year where you put your medicine knowledge into practice, immerse yourself into the local community and develop practical business skills; we’d love to hear from you!

We are a suburban community pharmacy in Chisholm, ACT, and our community is our focus. We are the proud winners of the Capital Chemist Pharmacy of the Year in 2018 and continue to strive to be the best we can. We generally have 2-3 pharmacists on-duty, including managing partner Rebecca Young. Following a significant redesign of the dispensary, we are enjoying being able to offer more interactive and responsive patient care to our community.

The Capital Chemist group are proud to support our community through professional services and supporting local community groups. This pharmacist intern position is heavily involved in screening services, primary health care, supporting health promotion activities, fundraising events and medicine counselling.

The position involves weekday and Saturday work, with a degree of flexibility. Opportunities to build business and leadership skills may be available to interested candidates.

Pharmacy student position

Capital Chemist Curtin has an exciting position for a pharmacy student to work 10 hours per week with the opportunity in the future of a pharmacy intern position.

The position would suit a pharmacy student currently in their 3rd or 4th year.

The role involves supporting our pharmacists and helping to drive professional services including vaccinations, specialists testing, Impromy, woundcare, leave certificates, compounding and supplying IVF medications.

Lots of training and support provided.

Regular duties will include:

  • General dispensing
  • Leave certificates and vaccinations under the supervision of a pharmacist
  • Dose aid administration tasks
  • Dispensary stock control
  • Taking in and handing out scripts
  • Counselling patients about new medicines
  • Complex compounding

Attributes of the successful candidate:

  • An eye for detail and high level of accuracy
  • Ability to work well with a great team in a face paced environment
  • A positive attitude and be motivated to learn new skills

Full time dispense technician position

Capital Chemist Curtin has an exciting position for a full time dispensary technician.

Previous pharmacy experience preferred but training will be offered to the successful candidate.

The role involves supporting our pharmacists by accurately dispensing and managing prescriptions on file.

There will also be the opportunity to learn how to prepare compounded medications under the supervision of a pharmacist.

Lots of training and support provided.

Regular duties will include:

  • General dispensing
  • Dispensary stock control
  • Reconciling and filing prescriptions
  • Taking in and handing out scripts
  • Compounding
  • Assisting the pharmacist in general duties

Permanent part-time pharmacy assistant

Capital Chemist University of Canberra is a health-care oriented pharmacy with a focus on high quality customer service.

We are looking for someone to join our team as a permanent part-time pharmacy assistant to be involved in customer service and stock control in our front-of-shop. The position is for roughly 25 hours per week, and will best suit a person looking to make a career in pharmacy. Skills such as multitasking, attention to detail and a positive attitude would be highly valued.
