What is a Superficial Burn? A burn is an injury to the skin tissue, usually caused by contact with intense heat, electricity or chemicals
The severity of your burn depends on how deeply it has affected the skin tissue, it can be a superficial, partial-thickness or full-thickness burn
Treatment of superficial burn wounds -Begin by flooding your burn with cool (not cold) water for 10 to 15 minutes or until the pain is relieved
Always ask your pharmacist for advice before applying ointments or creams
Don’t burst any blisters that form on your burn
Cover with transparent hydrocolloid dressing to enhance a moist environment conducive to natural healing.

Precautions:Do not use on an infected or 3rd degree burn
lf the wound bleeds or is swollen or painful within 7 days, seek medical advice
People with Diabetes should consult a physician before using the dressing
If burn is electrical or chemical, seek medical advice
If you notice signs of infection on the wound site such as pain, redness, swelling or heat, you should seek medical advice.
Each wallet contains:
2 Transparent hydrocolloid dressings 5 x 7cm
Directions for use

It is advised to hold the burn under cool or lukewarm running water for 20•30 minutes.

Wash hands before and after applying the dressing.

Clean the wound area with gauze and clean water or Prontosan® and dry gently.

Cut dressing to fit wound size if necessary.
5 Warm the dressing in your hands for 1 minute.

Remove the printed protective paper.

Apply the adhesive side to the wound.

Remove the top protective papers.
9
Gently press down the edges of the dressing.
Dressing should be left in place for 3 to 5 days.
To remove, lift the edge of the dressing and stretch it towards you.
