Capital Chemist Pharmacies are offering a medical certificate service ONLY if you can't access your regular doctor.
Pharmacists are authorised to write a medical certificate under certain conditions.
They can only issue one for minor ailments like coughs, colds, flu, gastrointestinal conditions, lice and other common infectious diseases.
Pharmacists can issue a certificate for a maximum of two days. They can't issue one for a condition where you are being treated with a prescription drug. Anything complicated they have to refer to a doctor.
There is a dedicated area in the pharmacy to conduct the consultation (for privacy purposes) and the pharmacist will spend an adequate time with you usually 10 to 15 minutes. Records of the consultation will be kept.
Please make an appointment with the Pharmacist on duty.
A fee will be charged for providing the medical certificate.
